Description

With the construction of a future transit terminal in mind, the Ground Level Transportation Feasibility
Study enhances ground travel to and from Pearson International Airport by designing a more enticing transit experience.

The Feasibility Study enhances bus and other ground travel by proposing improvements to exterior bus platforms, the main interior corridor, and a new “passenger hub.” Refurbished curbside with increased visibility, a series of sheltered waiting areas, and a new service desk make travel more comfortable. In addition to new finishes, planters enhance the waiting experience, and new wayfinding strategies and facilitate passenger navigation. An elevated “passenger hub,” offering multiple amenities such as lounge space, food, and beverages, replaces the existing cafeteria to establish a sought-out destination for travelers.

These viable additions to Terminal 1 elevate the transit experience at Pearson International Airport, making transportation seamless, feasible and enjoyable.
