Bio

Mark has a keen interest in architecture that is highly collaborative, sensitive to the environment, contextually relevant and meets the needs of current and future inhabitants.

In 2012 Mark moved to Toronto to attend Ryerson University’s Masters of Architecture program. While at Ryerson he gained an appreciation for collaboration as well as digital fabrication methods. For his thesis, Mark explored ways in which architecture can play a role in waste reduction within the construction industry. He designed and built a set of benches made from waste dimensional lumber that went on to win a DesignxNature Award.

In 2013/2014 Mark was part of a team of Architecture and Building Science students that designed a set of row houses for a neighborhood in Denver for the US Department of Energy Challenge Home Design Competition. The home was designed to Passive House and LEED Platinum standards. The submission won Best Design, Best Technical Solution, Best Presentation and Grand Winner.

Mark has worked for various architects and designers in Vancouver and Toronto including Arno Matis Architects, Darrell Epp Architect, Arriz+Co and Kearns Mancini Architects. His experience ranges from custom homes, restaurants, corporate interiors, and in recent years, institutional projects with a focus in the culinary arts.
