Description

Bistro '67 Restaurant is a part of the W Galen Weston Centre for Food (CFF), in Whitby, Ontario, one of Canada’s first food education facility to bring the ‘Field to Fork’ concept to life. The CFF is an emerging model of a food education centre that can function as its own ecosystem, rooted in place to bring the community, local farmers, and students together. As the home for 900 Durham College students, it serves as a showcase for the delivery of interconnected programs in agriculture and horticulture: food product development and food processing studies; and hospitality and tourism.

The 70-seat, full-service teaching restaurant is the culmination of visitors’ food journey through the CFF, where they can enjoy the final plated meal as the outcome of students’ crop growing and food prepping. Located on the second floor perched onto the growing fields, Bistro 67 is an elegant and lofty dining space that offers guests a unique culinary experience with expansive views of the cultivated landscape. The restaurant’s strategic elevated position establishes a direct visual connection for diners between their food and its source.

Bistro '67 is a Green Certified restaurant offering locally sourced food with ingredients like herbs from the living wall, honey from the rooftop apiary, and vegetables from the fields.
