Description

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) Administration Building is known as the Corporate Headquarters and is the office location for the GTAA Senior Executive team, as well as individual departments within the GTAA organization. The main focus of the project is to improve the security of the GTAA Administration Building and deploy a corporate identification program.

Security features (including e-gates/ speed gate turnstiles) were implemented to enhance personnel safety and security, and to protect physical and intellectual property and assets. In addition to being part of an integrated security system (speed gate turnstiles, revolving entrance door, and reception desk), the e-gates feature swinging-motion glass barriers, unauthorised user detection, and tailgating detection.

The renovation allowed for the implementation of a process for monitoring and controlling access into and within the Administration Building.

The Scope of this project included updates to finishes and furniture; installation of a secure revolving entrance door — ensuring existing building air pressure issues were addressed (security issue); a re-brand of the GTAA Corporate Office to create a professional first impression; as well as renovation of the exterior front entrance canopy.
