Valerie Gow Awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal

We are thrilled to announce that Valerie Gow is among 30 architects named by the RAIC as recipients of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

This Canadian commemorative medal has been created to mark His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation on May 6, 2023. The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a visible and tangible way to recognize 30,000 outstanding individuals of all ages and from all walks of life who have made a difference in their communities.

Valerie is deeply engaged in the design community, locally and internationally. She co-chairs the RAIC Southwestern Ontario Regional Committee of the College of Fellows, serves on the BEAT Advisory Committee promoting equity and inclusion and TMU School of Interior Design Program Advisory Council. Her dedication to student success has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the TMU G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Award and the University of Toronto Arbor Award. Valerie represented Canada on trade missions to Italy and Denmark and co-chaired the CAN-UK Architecture Group at the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom, elevating the profile of Canadian architecture in Britain.

Please join us in congratulating Valerie and all the other medal-winners on this well-deserved recognition!

The medal ceremony will take place on October 7 during the RAIC’s Congress on Architecture in St. Andrews, New Brunswick.
