2022 ARIDO Award Winners

We’re 2022 ARIDO Award winners! It was a joy breathing new life into the interiors of two well-loved buildings constructed a century apart—the 1870s Aurora Armoury and the 1970s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Valerie Gow, ARIDO attended a satellite event at the Steelcase showroom to celebrate the 17 winning projects. To read more about this year's winners, visit the 2022 ARIDO Awards book.

Aurora Armoury Canadian Food & Wine Institute
Winning in the PRESERVE + RESTORE category, the renovation and addition revives a former drill shed as a vibrant culinary and community hub for the Town of Aurora, as well as an outpost location for the Niagara College Canadian Food & Wine Institute. The design establishes an expanded teaching and event setting that serves both culinary students and community members while embracing the Armoury’s rich history and prominent location at the edge of the Town Park.
