Gow Hastings takes part in EDIT’s Exhibition Letters to the Mayor / Letters to the Developer: Toronto

We are excited to announce our involvement in EDIT: Expo for Design, Innovation and Technology. EDIT is an upcoming 10-day festival put on in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, which opens this Thursday, September 28th, 2017.

Gow Hastings has been invited to participate in an exhibition jointly curated by Storefront for Art & Architecture and PARTISANS called Letters to the Mayor / Letters to the Developer: Toronto, a series that showcases letters written by a select group of architects, addressed to their city mayors and to the developers who are shaping the future of the city. The Toronto edition of this exhibition has the support of Mayor John Tory, who will speak at the installation on EDIT’s opening night, as well as Jennifer Keesmaat, who will be speaking at a roundtable discussion on Saturday, September 30th at 12pm.

This exhibition will speak to the architect’s role in the homogenization of the contemporary city, sparking an understanding of relevant issues and shared concerns for the growth of our city.
