Odeyto Indigenous Centre Honoured With Toronto Urban Design Award

We are thrilled to announce that the Odeyto Indigenous Centre at Seneca College has received a Toronto Urban Design Award in the “Public Buildings in Context” category. The City of Toronto holds the awards every other year to acknowledge the contribution that architects, landscape architects, urban designers, artists, design students and city builders make to the look and livability of the city.

Odeyto is a place where groups can gather to meet with elders, learn about and practice their traditions, reclaim their space, and reinforce the importance of Indigenous culture in a very visible way. We were inspired by the Indigenous students and staff at Seneca College and worked closely with them to realize the vision for their own space – purpose-designed and built to honour both their heritage and their future.
